After three days of competition, Fletcher, from Indiana, was the only archer to stay clean and took the women's championship compound title outright.

"It's crazy. My shot was feeling good all weekend, so I had a lot of confidence coming in today. But to come out here and fight the nerves and everything, to shoot a 900, it's absolutely amazing." she said.
Five archers in the women's championship were clean on Day 2, but all dropped a single point on the final day except Fletcher and Alejandra Usquiano, who both went into the last end clean. But Usquiano faltered with her first arrow of the last end, sending it high and into the nine. It handed Fletcher, who held her nerve and closed it out, the title and a place in the history books.
The 18-year-old Fletcher placed 18th in the same competition last year, with an 896. "Absolutely amazing, super thrilled. You just do the best you can to get up there and try to make the best shot you can, no matter what." she said after winning today.
A shootoff for the 2nd and 3rd places will take place tomorrow.

Fletcher becomes only the ninth woman to shoot a 900 in Vegas. Mary Hamm (neé Zorn) was the first, in 2004, then there was a ten year wait before Sarah Lance made another 900 in 2014. Tanja Gellenthien then shot a 900 in 2017, 2022, 2023 & 2024. She won the 2017 title and the last two editions, and holds the record for the most 900s shot by a woman.
In 2019 both So Chaewon and Sara Lopez shot 900, giving the category its first ever shootdown final, won by Lopez.
Liko Arreola then shot a 900 in 2021 and 2022, winning both years and becoming the youngest champion ever at 13 years old.
Paige Pearce shot a 900 in 2020, 2022 and 2023, and was champion in 2020.
Ella Gibson shot a 900 in 2024, and was runner-up to Gellenthien.
Since 2019 there has always been at least one woman that has scored 900. In 2017, for the first time the main championship was open to both male and female archers. Sara Lopez from Colombia became the first woman to shoot in the compound open division; she scored 898 and finished in 79th place.
On International Women's Day, congratulations to Gracen for carving a new chapter!
