Jacob Marlow Wins the 10K-A-Day Shoot Off

Updated: Feb 12, 2023

Archers who shot a 300 today had a chance to shoot off for $10,000 in the 10K-A-Day Shoot Off. It started with 91 archers on the line, but that number was quickly cut down as the shoot off went to inside-out scoring.

The Rules

Archers in any of the championship divisions, who shot a perfect 300, and signed up for the 10K-A-Day Shoot Off, are eligible to shoot off for the $10,000 prize. The shoot off is shot one arrow at a time. In the first end, the X ring is scored as ten. Then archers must shoot an inside out X for it to be scored as a ten. So, if any part of the shaft is touching the X line, the arrow is scored as a nine.

The Shoot Off

Today’s shoot off ended in a battle between Jean-Philippe Boulch of France, and USA’s Jacob Marlow. Both archers are clean through today, and that exemplary shooting was on display as both archers continued to tie. It took several rounds but, a perfect inside-out arrow from Marlow, won him the $10,000 check.

“It’s good confidence booster going into tomorrow as I chase another 900,” Marlow said.
